Bomb explosion claims two lives, injures several critically in Labhpur

Evidencing once more that the watershed Lok Sabha Election, 2014 may become violent if it fails to gratify aspiration of the ruling clique in Bengal and to vent this anger illegal arms and ammunitions are being stockpiled by radical Muslims across the state, two people were killed while seven got injured seriously on April 21 owing to an explosion in the residence of Sheikh Ismail, known as an ardent supporter and also local leader of Trinamool Congress, in the village of Kusumgaria within the Labhpur police station’s jurisdiction in the district of Birbhum. It is widely believed that the explosion happened while crude bombs were being made. According to locals, others who were less injured fled the spot soon.

It has come to knowledge, the incident had taken place on April 21 at 1 pm when Sheikh Ismail’s house was bustling with the presence of lots of people. The adjoining hut of Sheikh Ismail, known also as a henchman of Monirul Islam, TMC MLA already under Election Commission’s scanner for reckless speeches, caught fire. While the main house of Ismail consists of two stories, the hut is made of mud and following the blast when locals rushed to the spot, two slain bodies were identified. Local police was informed, accordingly. On the word of police officials, the blast occurred as lots of crude bombs were discharged at the same instant. Nevertheless, the incident has led to a political brouhaha in the area and no party is losing a chance to pick its opponent. While the reigning Trinamool Congress has already distanced itself from this explosion, CPIM has termed it as natural fallout of Mamata regime.

But the mud-slinging can’t end the danger for sure and this can be discerned how the administration is virtually staggering in the state and gropes in darkness for a definite clue. On April 19, 2014, security forces got hold of 105 crude bombs with explosive manufacturing materials during a search operation inn the same district of Birbhum. A joint squad of CRPF and state police in the village of Bamdevpur within Rampurhat police station’s jurisdiction in the district conducted the raid. According to sources, the entire operation was based on intelligence reports and thanks to reports and also their own fortitude, security forces seized 105 country-made bombs, 1kg of gunpowder, shrapnels and other explosive materials.

The saga of stockpiling does not end with the district of Birbhum. Districts of Bardhaman and Murshidabad are in the same inventory already. Only in the month of March 2014, Humayun Kabir, Superintendent of Police in Murshidabad, had congratulated the investigation under the aegis of Arijit Sinha, SDPO of Domkal, in public. The operation recovered 2 muskets, a single-barreled rifle, three 9 mm pistols, 6 one-shutter guns, 22 rounds of cartridges and 5 magazines. This was a major breakthrough while through other investigations conducted in the areas of Jalangi, Raninagar and Domkal police stations, the police force got hold of 11 firearms and culprits including a Bangladeshi national involved in at least eight cases of murder.According to police reports, 392 illegal weapons, 686 rounds of ammunition and 1,882 bombs were seized in Bengal in the month of March only.

Hindu housewife turns into sex slave in Bangladesh

Islamists kidnap her again for daring to protest

On April 20, 2014, at night, a group of Muslim radicals abducted a Hindu housewife from the Satanipara area in the city of Sherpur, Dhaka division in Bangladesh and even if her husband lodged an official complaint on the following day to the local police station, she is yet to be found. In accordance with sources and also content of the complaint, the Hindu housewife had been kidnapped a few days back also and then she was made victim to sexual assaults. The entire activity was recorded in a camera and she was also warned that any exposure of this would cost lives of her husband and children. Even if she requested the Islamists to render clemency to her hapless family, she was declined at every time. Some of the culprits agreed to return the video footage later on; an amount of 4.5 lakh taka (currency in Bangladesh) was collected from the Hindu family also. However, the video footage was not returned. When the radical Muslims demanded another (large) amount of money, the victim Hindu family filed an official complaint to the local administration that perturbed the Islamists a lot. They started to threaten the Hindu family of worst consequences through telephone.

On the fateful day or April 20, 2014, the Hindu housewife, desolate in every sense of the term, went to meet the doctor at Zaman Health Complex in the town at 8 pm. The culprits had the necessary info of her arrival beforehand and were waiting for her only. Once the Hindu housewife appeared there, she was kidnapped in a weird style (as found in motion pictures), put in a microbus and was carried way. Later on, Islamists threatened the housewife’s husband through her mobile phone that any more communication to administration would be disastrous for remaining members of the family. Even if Mehedul Karim, Superintendent of Police, has assured to retrieve the Hindu housewife, locals are convinced that her fate is sealed for eternity.

The situation in Bangladesh is such that no Hindu can depend on administration for justice. No less than 100 incidents of Hindu persecutions have taken place between January and April, 2014 and in no case either the torturers have been grabbed or taken into custody. The following three incidents do reflect the same scenario as well. Islamists in each of these cases are roaming freely.

On January 26, 2014, armed cadres of Jamaat-e-Islami kidnapped, gang raped and then killed Sumita Balao, a Hindu woman living at Suripara in the Kashinath Union Council, sub-district: Jaldhaka in the district of Dhaka. Sushila Rani, another Hindu woman from Doapara in the same area had the same fate too.

On January 4, 2014, Gauri Sutradhar, minority Hindu girl (age 20), was kidnapped, gang raped and also murdered by a few Islamists. The gruesome incident took place at the sub-district headquarter of Kaligunj in the district of Gazipur.

On January 27, 2014, Chaitanya Mandal, a minority Hindu ex-military man, was attacked in his own chemist shop in Magura market within the Abhoynagar in the district of Jessore. Hundreds of cadres of Jamaat-e-Islami with lethal weapons encircled the shop and chopped him repeatedly. After it, petrol was sprinkled on Chaitanya Mandal, the shutter of the shop was closed and he was burnt to death. The horrific incident has created a terror in the area.

Hindus tortured cruelly at Netrokona, Magura in Bangladesh

On April 24, 2014, large groups of radical Muslims raided two Kali Temples belonging to the minority Hindu community in the district of Netrokona in Bangladesh. it has come to knowledge, Kali Temple of Ekata Sangha located at the Nadir Par Satpai within the municipal area became victim to the Islamic onslaught in the night. A few holy deities including Kali, Saraswati and Shiva were both defiled and destroyed. On the other hand, the Kali Temple located at the Hindu crematorium of Badagara Gopalpur in the outskirts of the town was attacked in the evening and five holy deities were desecrated and destroyed. Even if higher officials of local police and administration have visited the spot, no investigation has started yet. It is alleged, fear of Hindus to lodge official complaints to the police station has prevented police to initiate any investigation.  Locals have also been found to claim that the police report will be of no avail as well.  This area in the district of Netrokona is known for recurrent attempts on Hindu temples but there has been no definite approach against the miscreants up till now.

Not Hindu temples only but if truth be told no Hindu individual can even envisage getting fair treatment from the administration also. If rival gangs clash or fight back and Hindus become victims, there remains hardly anyone to ask the administration to solve their anguishes. Without doubt, the number of liberals is no diminutive in Bangladesh but they are hardly heard in a hard-core Islamic country like contemporary Bangladesh.

On April 25, in the noon, 10 Hindu houses were pillaged in the village of Hat Malanchi of Raghabdair Union within the sub-district headquarter of Magura in the district of Magura owing to the death of an activist of BNP. The slain person was identified as Omar Ali (age 45), an active BNP cadre of Raghabdair Union. What’s the fault of Hindus then? They did nothing and in accordance with police report and also Jehangir Alam, O.C. of the local police station, the gruesome murder was the result of a political clash between local activists of BNP and Awami League. On the word of Jalal Biswas, a local resident, ever since the last Parliamentary election in Bangladesh, Tujamuddin (responsible activist) and Nayeb Ali group belonging to BNP has been at daggers drawn with Obaidur Rehman (organizational secretary) and Rasul Biswas (ward president) of Awami League in the same Raghabdair Union and the entire area has remained witness to violent scuffles without an exception yet.

On the fateful day, it was afternoon when supporters of Obaidur and Rasul group in Awami League got hold of Omar Ali, known for his devout loyalty to the group of Tujamuddin and Nayeb Ali, in the Hat Malanchi village all of a sudden and chased him. Albeit Omar tried his best to evade the murderous supporters of Awami League, he was grabbed fast and killed mercilessly. The news of murder spread like a wild fire in the vicinity resulting in the visit of Tujamuddin and Rasool Mian with their supporters to the spot of murder. BNP supporters, to vent their anger and frustration, ransacked 10 houses of Hindus who prefer to steer clear of turbulence always.

Who can stop cattle smuggling in Basirhat?

Not Bengal government indubitably

Basirhat is in headlines once more and as expected, for both wrong and usual reasons only. On April 23, in the night a fierce accident between a matador and a vehicle loaded with cattle led to injury of 15 people and 8 of them have already been transferred to the SSKM hospital in Kolkata and all of them, as per last reports, are in critical conditions yet. According to police and also locals, the lorry or vehicle loaded with a large number of cows was moving towards Basirhat while the matador was coming from there. Both vehicles were in high speed and collided soon. The aggrieved mob ransacked the lorry virtually and when police reached the spot, the entire police team had to deal with a strong protest. On the word of aggrieved villagers, the entire area, thanks to tacit support of local police and administration, has turned into a free zone for cattle smugglers and this saga has been going on for years. Cattle smugglers have become kingpins in the area and if anyone dares to protest, the person is either beaten hollow or hacked to death even. Locals asked police to adopt strong measures or else a people’s movement against all these illegal acts will unsettle the entire administrative scenario.

Is the local administration capable to adopt tough measures? The answer is no and this assessment is not abrupt at all; scores of sordid experiences and hundreds of such incidents along with perception of police’s surrender to the nexus of cattle smuggling makes the scribe to deduce such. Administration in Basirhat does not belong to any particular political party but to smugglers with the power to win over anyone or even a dissident by large baits of money. Hindus living in Swarupnagar in Basirhat can narrate their own story or how they have become victims to cattle smugglers. In the year 2012, Kalu Ghosh and Debu Ghosh, two brothers living in the village of Baltighoshpara, within Swarupnagar police station’s jurisdiction protested against cattle smuggling but were thrashed by local activists of Trinamool Congress with cow smugglers in Baltibazar. Their houses were also ransacked. Robin Roy living in the village of Koijari within the same police station’s jurisdiction had the same fate. Muslim cow smugglers were using the lane before his house for an easy transportation and at every time, his housed used to be get damaged. Once when he protested, Robin was assaulted highly. Even Hindu women in his family were also not spared; cow smugglers attempted to rape them but the situation was saved as a large number of Hindus hearing the noise (women raised an alarm) rushed to the spot.

Arindam Bagchi, another Hindu living in village of Mallikpur also raised a vehement protest against this intolerable smuggling of cows from different parts of India across the India-Bangladesh international border. Arindam was beaten so heavily that his family members were forced to take him to a nearby hospital. There is no difference in 2014 and to be precise, the situation has worsened. The detention and release of Abdul Barik Biswas on bail, known to have a property worth 100 crore based on this trade, of late exposes how Basirhat is vulnerable to cattle smuggling. He, himself has already stated smugglers of cattle have entered into the field of gold and this happens to be more profitable to them. Who can end cattle smuggling in Basirhat?

Hindus in Joynagar stave off Islamists’ nefarious plot

Conspiracy to rout Hindus hatched months back

While the entire nation is under the spell of parliamentary election, 2014, Hindus inhabiting Durgapur in Joynagar, known for recurrent communal clashes through years, are engaged in a fiery resistance to fast increasing aggressions of Islamists in the area. On the word of people dwelling the area of Taltala of Durgapur in Joynagar within the Joynagar police station’s jurisdiction in the district of South 24 Paraganas, the crisis was initiated by an individual named Jehangir Ghazi. Jehangir Ghazi, in recent past, purchased a stretch of land behind the local Balak Sammilani Club and also alongside the land owned by Tappan Malakar, a Hindu individual. None in the village opposed Jehangir’s venture especially when he had constructed his own residence in the village. The residence of Jehangir looks like a ship and it became an attraction for all within the village and its vicinity also.

Honest Hindus in the village assumed that Jehangir was in a mood to surprise all and hence, a sense of amiability remained. But it was his bid to acquire Tapan’s land that led to the crisis reigning the entire village now. Perhaps the problem would have ended in this case too, had it been a one-man show. What got evident soon was that it was not Jehangir’s personal project but a way to increase the number of radical Muslims in the realm of Durgapur in Joynagar. This cruel reality triggered a strong reaction of Hindus who got united soon to halt this nefarious design. To halt further advances, a temple of Sri Ramchandra was built up in the very controversial land and with the permission of Tappan Malakar. Now, no stone is being left unturned to stop the dream project of Hindus. But they are determined to go on with the same come what may. The village is in a deep crisis now. The situation has been worsened owing to the political support being provided to Jehangir Ghazi to have Muslim votes en masse during election.

What makes Hindus in the area so defiant? If truth be told, Hindus within the Joynagar police station’s jurisdiction have become synonymous to “A burnt child dreads the fire”. Whether it is 2010 or 2012 or 2014, persecution of Hindus by a section of radical Muslims, backed by political endeavors, remains in full swing. If other cases are brushed aside even, how can sordid lessons in 2012 be forgotten? Following the murder of Shaukat Khan, at 7.30 am, on May 14, 2012, in the area of Ghoshalchowk, P.S. Joynagar, District: 24 Paraganas (South) and thus to have vengeance, Islamists made Hindus of both Taranagar and Paschim Rupnagar villages easy preys despite the veracity that Hindus were not involved with the slaying. The political feud likely to occur between CPIM and SUCI (Shukat claimed as SUCI supporter by local party leadership), hence, turned into a brazen Islamic endeavor against Hindus and police force deployed there watched the happenings barefacedly.

Hindus in Joynagar, thanks to political and secular approaches, are under threat of racial extermination always. In that case, nothing other than defiance can save them. Hindus living in Joynagar know it by heart.

Hindus at nadir in Bangladesh

Alarming rise in persecution menaces Hindu existence

Inhibiting all expectations of minority communities and also of liberals in Bangladesh that the new government would adopt all measures to bring the crisis to a halt, persecutions on Hindus with other minority communities is rising alarmingly there and the alleged secular government headed by Awami League, found to be highly vociferous against mounting clout of Islamists in the country even a few months back, is found to retain a weird silence only. Has any truce been signed between Awami League and Jamaat forces? This motion is prevailing official circles of eastern part of Indian subcontinent too, primarily India as it shall have to bear the burden of Bengali Hindu refugee influx if worst pogroms start against them back home.

The surge in attacks on Hindus include plundering their residences, endeavors to both defile and destroy holy deities in Hindu temples, burning down Hindu establishments and forcible abduction of Hindu women, girl and almost each district remains witness to such horrific events on a daily basis. Only in the last week, ten holy deities of Devi Kali were desecrated and destructed by Islamists in the district of Netrokona.  Kali Temple of Ekata Sangha located at the Nadir Par Satpai within the municipal area became victim to the Islamic onslaught in the night. A few holy deities including Kali, Saraswati and Shiva were both defiled and destroyed. Again, the Kali Temple located at the Hindu crematorium of Badagara Gopalpur in the outskirts of the town was attacked in the evening and five holy deities were desecrated and destroyed. Even if higher officials of local police and administration have visited the spot, no investigation has started yet. It is alleged, fear of Hindus to lodge official complaints to the police station has prevented police to initiate any investigation.  This area in the district of Netrokona is known for recurrent attempts on Hindu temples but there has been no definite approach against the miscreants up till now.

Again, a few days back, a Hindu temple was vandalized by radical Muslim youths in the village of Pangasi within the sub-district of Roygunj in the district of Sirajgunj. The temple was closed (as usual) after daily kirtan but on the next morning, six holy deities were found out as both profaned and destroyed. A similar fate was meted out to a Hindu temple at Kapasi in the district of Gazipur. How are Hindu women in Bangladesh now? The family of Ratan Pal, minority Hindu individual living in the village of Ataikula Kuchiamora within the sub-district headquarter in the district of Pabna, is running hither and thither out of a grave fear. Rocky, son of Shahjahan Ali, inhabiting the village of Sakharipara, had kidnapped Ratan Pal’s adolescent daughter. She was recovered almost two months after but now the Muslim family is asking the hapless Hindu father to return her innocent daughter to Rocky once more. Ratan Pal sought help of local administration but they were found to be indisposed to help a Hindu family.

Ratan Pal is a helpless Hindu individual but he, precisely, represents the Hindu populace in Bangladesh whose existence is at stake now. According to Kajal Debnath, president of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Committee, Hindu persecution has become usual to all in Bangladesh and hence, voice of protests to these is also on the wane. All have started to accept that Hindu persecution is natural and an intrinsic feature of Islamic society in Bangladesh. Hindus fear the verdict of Delwar Hossain Sayeedi (soon) will trigger fiery response from Islamists endangering Hindu existence in Bangladesh altogether.

Will doctor’s murder initiate anew spate of Hindu persecution in Kultali?

$

Law and order is not on the verge of falling down in Bengal; it is on the wane already and while the saga of violence and communal clashes soar, police and administration prefer to witness from a distance. And if the victim turns out to be a Hindu anyway, derision instead of justice remains his only destiny.

All these are being said, now, by people inhabiting the areas within the jurisdiction of Kultali police station in the district of South 24 Paraganas on the unprecedented murder of Mrityunjay Purakait (age 46). He was a doctor by profession, living in the village of Manikapir within the same police station’s jurisdiction, and was murdered on April 27 in the morning.  The doctor was murdered by Karim Dhali, inhabitant of the village of Deulbari Devipur village panchayat within the jurisdiction of Kultali police station.  He is in the police custody at the moment.

What led to the ghastly crime? According to villagers, Karim Dhali’s two month-old son was suffering from pneumonia for the last few weeks and he was taken to Mrityunjay Purakait, reputed quack doctor in the neighborhood, for treatment. Villagers assert even if Dr. Purakait asked Karim Dhali to admit the baby to hospital, he was reluctant that led to the child’s death. But Karim held Dr. Purakait as responsible and even threatened to murder him also. The news spread throughout the locality but no Muslim individual, even patients of the doctor, was found to protest. On April 27, 2014, Karim Dhali killed him and fled. When the quack doctor was taken to Jamtala hospital in Kultali, he was declared dead.

Is this the sole reason behind murder? However, many do smell a rat. As per them, Karim is not an insane who can be enraged so easily through his child’s death. They also say that Dr. Purakait was known to support Hindutva politics and also for owning a large tract of land. All these factors have propelled Karim and his accomplices to murder the doctor, in accordance with villagers.

Filth of local administration comes forth, as a result. None has the fear, let alone reverence, of police and its rising ineptitude thanks to political interference round the clock has made the entire force a laughing stock to all. The rot is not within the boundaries of Kultali police station but has corrupted the remaining part of Bengal too by leaps and bounds. There are enough reasons to apprehend violent communal skirmishes now as Kultali is infamous for burgeoning clashes between Hindus and Muslims. Communal skirmishes have become common and particularly, Hindus are yet to forget the lesson of January 1, 2014.

The day witnessed the greatest attack on Hindus within Kultakli in recent times. Radical Muslims in large numbers attacked Hindu shops at Dhaki Bazar premeditatedlybetween 9 am and 1 pm to oust Hindu traders permanently. The campaign was led by Suja, alleged to be a trusted acquaintance of Selim or the dreaded criminal from Mograhat. A contingent of local police station under the supervision of a police officer named Imarul Haque was also there but they remained silent even if forceful eviction of traders including Panchu Gharami, Kinkar Mandal, Kashinath Paik and Sanat Mandal went on. The onslaught ended hours later and Hindus were warned of dire consequences soon.

Where can Hindu refugees from Bangladesh go other than India?

$

Political parties are up in arms against the recent statement of Narendra Modi of packing off illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh to India and some Hindus have also been found to join the bandwagon and without doubt, this attitude reflects their inhuman dearth of knowledge instead of erudition. Even if the chronicle of illegal infiltration of Islamists in Bangladesh has been ravaging the national economy, secular parties in strength, to retain power through support of Muslims en masse, prefer to be reticent. There has been no end to this endeavor. A question also arises – how will leaders of these parties react if they discern that their kith and kin are compelled everyday to convert to another religion and if he/she belongs to any minority religious community, the existence of concerned individual at stake.

Do they know how Islamists are estranging Hindus in Bangladesh? Do they know that Hindus are having two options now there – either they have to become Muslims or leave Bangladesh sneakily? Will they have any option then except to enter India as refugees? Take the example of Paresh Chandra Goala, gardener of the Jahangirnagar University located in the sub-district of Savar in Dhaka. According to sources, radical Muslims left no stone unturned to hackle his entire family and being a Hindu, he failed to get any assistance from the administration. The greatest crime of Paresh Chardra Goala was his religious identity or that he was a Hindu and for the same reason, even the civil society preferred to steer clear of him. At last and being devoid of any viable option to deal with the uncongenial society under the sway of Islamists, he decided to convert himself and also the rest of the family into Islam.

It has been learnt, Paresh Chardra Goala , son of Hiralal Goala (deceased), living in the village of Gacha within the Joydevpur police station’s jurisdiction in the district of Gazipur, along with his whole family converted to Islam through a notary public affidavit on April 3, 2014. The new name of Paresh Chandra Goala is Mohammed Masum. Being newly converted to Islam, Mohammed Masum has won lots of friends and also admirers already.

The following incidents portray why it is no more possible for Hindus to live in Bangladesh.

1)      On February 28, 2014, a few Islamists attacked the durga temple worshipped by minority Hindus in the village of Bathanichala within the sub-district of Kaliachaik in the district of Gazipur. The violent group defiled and destructed 8 holy deities and also left behind a note stating “STOP STATUE WORSHIP NEXT HERE WORSHIP WE WILL CAST BOMB OR ALL OF YOU”.

2)      On February 19, 2014, a group of Islamists kidnapped Bikash Chakma (age 40), minority Buddhist individual living in Rokchandra Karbari Para area within the sub-district of Dighalia in the district of Khagrachari. His slain body was recovered by police on March 2, 2014.

3)      On March 2, 2014, Jyotsna (age 22), a minority Hindu woman was raped by Islamists at the sub-district headquarter of Saturia in the district of Manikgunj. Failing to have any justice in the rural court, she committed suicide out of disgust. Police has not adopted any measure against Mujibur Rahman, the main rapist, and his accomplices.

4)      On March 4, 2014, a local leader of Muslim youth league and also supported by the reigning party attacked minority Hindus living at Biswas Para in the village of Suktagarh within the sub-district of Rajapur in the district of Jhalkthi. With regard to a confrontation over a land, 22 Hindu families of the village were warned and were also asked to “all will be burnt to death if they fail to move to India within the next 15 days”.

Hindus smashed up in Comilla, Bangladesh

On April 27, 2014, minority Hindus living in the village of Baksitarampur within the Chanderchar Union, sub-district of Homna in the district of Comilla in Bangladesh earned the wrath of tens of thousands of radical Muslims that led to utter destruction of 35 residences of Hindus along with a Hindu temple. Hindus were taken aback by the entire development where even students of five madrasas took part elatedly and as expected, the destruction went on for hours. Hindus pleaded with the belligerent crowd to stop but the appeal fell on deaf ears only. It has come to knowledge, a derogatory remark on Hazrat Mohammed, Prophet of Islam, on Facebook urged the Islamic crowd to assail Hindus. However, many have been found to state that it was nothing but a rumor based on which Hindus were targeted. The incident terrorized Hindus in the village such that they fled during the onslaught and they are hiding still.

According to local sources and police and also devastated Hindus, Muslims, living in Banshkaitta of the sub-district of Muradnagar neighboring to the village of Baksitarampur within the Chanderchar Union in the sub-district of Homna, brought out processions following the namaz of magrib on April 26 to protest against the attempts of Udbhav Chandra Das (son of Chan Mohan Das) and Anil Das (son of Srinibas Chandra Das) living in Baksitarampur to insult Nabi Mohammed on Facebook. Locals, to halt the impending danger, had a meeting on the same night but due to the absence of any decision, another meeting was convened on the following day at 2 pm. But prior to it the onslaught on Hindus was conducted by radical Muslims leading to the destruction of almost 40 residences of Hindus along with a Hindu temple. While residences were ransacked and then destructed, holy deities in the temple were desecrated and destroyed initially followed by the temple’s demolition. These include residences of Chan Mohan Das, Srinibas Chandra Das, Dr. Rampada, Swapan, Tapan, Prtahlad, Sahadev Saha.  The onslaught went on for three hours (between 2pm – 5pm) and even if local police succeeded to contain the violence ultimately, the whole area is under a grave tension. Three platoons of police has been deputed in and around the village of Baksitarampur.

On the word of Aslam Shikdar, Officer-in-Charge of the Homna police station, a rumor was spread by activists of BNP and Jamaat strategically and the sole objective was to oust Hindus from the area through persecution. The onslaught was led by local leaders of Jamaat and BNP; participation of students of five madrasas enthused Islamists highly. Aslam Shidkdar’s views have been supported by Tutul Chakraborty, police super of Comilla district also, who has been found to term the attack as deliberate and also assured that stern measures would be adopted against culprits.

Hindu girl gang-raped in Sandeshkhali

Tortures on Hindus soar; administration gutless, voiceless

On April 28, at 2 am, a band of robbers, headed by Osman Mollah, raided the residence of a tribal Hindu businessman (of paddy) and demanded a large amount of money and when he failed to comply with, his adolescent daughter Ratna (name changed) was taken as hostage but found gang-raped later on. This gruesome incident took place at Jhupkhali Kacharipara within the jurisdiction of Sandeshkhali police station in Basirhat subdivision in the district of North 24 Paraganas. Osman is the son of Mochiyer Rahman Mollah of the same Jhupkhali village.

It has come to knowledge, the attack was premeditated and this can be found from a few facts. The gang had definite information that the hapless girl’s father had brought Rs. 70, 000 to the residence while the reality is that he had Rs. 20, 000 on hand after paying the stockist an amount of Rs. 50, 000. The robbers, to have the money, were wielding lethal weapons and once the gang forayed the tribal family’s residence, the amount of Rs 70, 000 was demanded. When the household failed to pay, they were thrashed brutally; two water pumps, a wardrobe were also crushed. Gold jewelries were also stolen. At this time, the felons focused on Ratna and took her as hostage. They also asked her parents to pay Rs. 50, 000 to retrieve their daughter. Despite being panic-stricken initially, the couple raised an alarm soon making their neighbors rush to the residence. An intense search for Ratna initiated and she was found both unconscious and nude in a little while. She was admitted to the local Khulna hospital and was transferred to the Basirhat hospital later on. According to the statement of Ratna, she identified one among six rapists.

The incident has triggered uproar and the situation there, if truth be told, is grave. It has also been learnt from sources that police took Osman, fiery activist of Trinamool Congress and confidant of Shahjahan Sheikh, notorious deputy-head of Agarati Sarberia, into custody on April 30. Shahjahan Sheikh, till a couple of years ago, was regarded as a gem for CPIM and Hindus, in the area, has been persecuted by this individual and his henchmen through years. Osman was also a brawny Left activist in the heydays of Left Front and with the change of guard in Bengal’s political scenario, both Shahjahan and Osman have switched over to Trinamool Congress and soon they have become trusted lieutenants of the party. And all these prove that the saga of persecution on Hindus remains unchanged.

Even if Hindus are found to be highly aggrieved on the incident, they remain inactive due to preponderance of Shahjahan and Osman’s cadres in the area. Hindus are being tortured, according to latest reports, and lots of them have been injured also while the police seems to be indifferent and is witnessing the event from a safe distance. None has the courage to take injured Hindus to local hospitals.

The question remains when the local administration will crack down on these criminals and let the law take its own course. If it fails to take place, rape of law and order in Bengal will take place once more.

A battle half owned by villagers in Basanti

Aamjhara Shikari Para is a small village under Basanti police station in the district of South 24 Parganas. This is a totally Hindu populated village where there are only two houses belong to Muslims. One marriage ceremony is supposed to take place in one of those houses today and as per custom, the reception was due yesterday.

Local Hindus came to know that Julman Khan, father of the bride, had a plan to slaughter a cow in the village for that reception. He brought a cow for that purpose. The Hindu villagers approached local Hindu Samhati workers and sought their help. Then they jointly went to Julman’s house and strongly opposed the idea of cow slaughter within the village.

Julman Khan was adamant to slaughter the cow. Hence he called Shaidul Laskar – a local anti-social from nearby place of Shimultala. Shaidul came with his gang in support of Julman Khan. They threatened local villagers with severe consequences if they put any hindrance to the slaughtering of cow at that very place. But villagers under the leadership of Hindu Samhati refused to bow down before their threat. A clash became inevitable between them but local police somehow got the news and came to the place. After strong protest from local villagers police asked Shaidul and his men not to slaughter cow in this predominantly Hindu village. Ultimately local villagers won the battle of nerve. Actually it is half owned battle, bcoz that Julman Khan took the cow to a mosque in neighbouring village, slaughtered there and brought the beef to his house for cooking.

Radical Muslims on a rampage for hours

While the entire state of Bengal is reeling under the soaring electoral climate and leaders are engaged in verbal spats best, Kolkata remained witness to another ruinous endeavor of Islamists on May 2 when they went virtually on a rampage in Patipukur to protest the unfortunate death of a cyclist in the night. The person who died on the spot was Saheb Ali alias Chotu, a young individual of 25 years. It has been learnt, Saheb Ali was an inhabitant of Milk Colony in the vicinity and also a worker in a factory producing bags. On the very day, at night, traffic police was busy in having bribes from truck drivers and to hide this, a barricade was also built up near the Patipukur underpass. To pass up police officials, one truck tried to move ahead and amid the haste, it struck the victim’s cycle. Saheb Ali fell on the road and died on the spot. However, unfortunate and painful the death was,  a virulent mob consisting Islamists, as stated by locals, lost no time to sensationalize the issue and soon, the area went out of control.

When police officials reached the spot, they were encircled by the enraged mob leading to a bitter clash between them. Two vehicles of the police team were pillaged and also destroyed while one sub-inspector of Ultadanga Police Station and one traffic constable suffered injuries. Later, they were taken to the RG Kar Medical College Hospital for primary treatment and released afterward. Due to the unforeseen development, traffic from RG Kar Medical College Hospital to Patipukur underpass remained standstill for a few hours.

What makes one focus on this is that such incidents are getting common more and more these days in the metropolis of Kolkata. Is it easy to forget the lessons of March 11, 2014? Radical Muslims held a large part of the metropolis to ransom as part of a protest against a picture published in the Bengali daily ‘Khabor 365 Din.’ The tabloid entertainment supplement or ‘Bibi’ of the newspaper published a few photographs of nude women protesting with Arabic texts and perchance the name of Allah and Muhammad in their bodies against persistent oppressions of Islam on women across the globe. The story was continued in the pages 4 and 5 of the tabloid too. Even if the nude protest of women took place at Paris Louvre Art Museum’s Square on International Women’s Day, Islamists went berserk in Kolkata.

Who can forget the wild disturbance staged by Islamists on March 19, 2012 also? A picture was published on t2, the entertainment supplementary of Kolkata-based English daily The Telegraph, and was accused for defiling Islam. The picture, if truth be told, displayed nude image of a model holding a frame of Lord Vishnu (face replaced with that of Sachin Tendulkar) and a Pakistani cricket player (in green dress with the cricket team’s star insignia ) performing a ‘sajda’ before it.

Soon, Kolkata turned into a combat zone. While roads were blocked demanding justice, traditional Islamist bastions in the town including Park Circus and Raja Bazaar, perceived more fury. Even if the trouble was quelled within hours, it left behind several questions of the administration’s sagacity. Now more questions are in the streets especially from people who wonder whether Bengal has ceded to these radical hooligans permanently.

Dedicated, brawny Hindu vote bank in India can overcome Bangladeshi cancer

What prevails Bengal now is alteration of truth and with deliberate, malicious intent.  Never before the illegal infiltration from Bangladesh and also the sordid fate of Hindus there had occupied a prime spot in Indian politics and when it is finally there amid the Lok Sabha Election, 2014, secular satraps are found to leave no stone unturned to distract people from this subject which if exposed is enough to imperil their destiny in the state. Nevertheless, due to paucity of endeavor, misconceptions reigned supremely in the beginning when Narendra Modi, prime ministerial candidate of BJP in 2014, verbalized the contentious subject. Seculars jumped on the occasion to portray how communal this person is and even if he vented his conviction to accept Hindu refugees in India and oust illegal Muslim infiltrators later on, desperation to become messiah of Muslims remains intact in the secular atmosphere.

The subject is no more limited to Bengal and has impressed a larger audience across the country. They have finally begun to comprehend the rot or danger of infiltration from the neighboring country which if let go unchecked can put the entire nation at risk extremely. Whatever it is, vaunting arrogance of secular fanatics (pseudo secularism, to be more exact) refuses to die down yet as found in myriad debates of news channels. But what they seem to have forgotten is that 2014 is no 1946 or 1950 or even 1971 when people used to get hands-on information on genocides of Hindus after almost a week. This departure can be found from the horrific tale of Hindu persecution taking place on April 27 in noon when Islamists in thousands alleging defamation of Hazrat Mohammed, Prophet of Islam, on Facebook, destroyed 35 residences of Hindus along with a Hindu temple in the village of Baksitarampur within the Chanderchar Union, sub-district of Homna in the district of Comilla in Bangladesh. The news circulated across the globe within an hour of its occurrence.

This is no isolated incident but a regular feature in Bangladesh or else the Hindu population forming 28% of East Pakistan’s populace in 1947 would not have come down to a staggering 8% of Bangladeshi population now. There is no need to portray what has gone wrong in this country of South Asia or how radical Muslims have been able to cow Hindus here through recurrent endeavors. Thousands of such analyses are already in the internet enough to make any true human conscious of the cruel reality.

The chilling testimony of Senator Edward Kennedy found through his report submitted to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee (November 1, 1971) is one of the best expositions of Hindu fate in an Islamic society. The report states categorically, "Field reports to the US government, countless eye-witness journalistic accounts, reports of international agencies such as World Bank and additional information available to the subcommittee document the reign of terror which grips East Bengal (East Pakistan). Hardest hit have been members of the Hindu community who have been robbed of their lands and shops, systematically slaughtered, and in some places, painted with yellow patches marked 'H'. All of this has been officially sanctioned, ordered and implemented under martial law from Islamabad."

The chronicle remains unchanged and can be best found now when Islamic Bangladesh is becoming the newest incarnation of Islamic Pakistan. Any noble thought needs a large support for its precise implementation. Expulsion of Islamist infiltrators of Bangladesh from India with rendering refugee status to Bangladeshi Hindus is a gigantic task which will be challenged both internationally and also in domestic circles once it initiates. A committed, burly Hindu vote bank in India can handle and overwhelm this crisis only.

Bangladeshi Muslims torturing Hindus in Farakka, Murshidabad

$

Hindus living in Farakka within the district of Murshidabad are being tortured by Bangladeshi Muslims more and more. The news is enough to shock all and pick governments, both at the centre and state, but this is a cruel reality. As per locals including Muslims, the entire area is vulnerable to illegal infiltration of Islamists from Bangladesh and its surge in recent years, while the administration remains a mute spectator at the behest of “secular” political parties hankering loyal minority vote bank, has made the entire region unstable and also highly dangerous for bonafide Indians.

The horror got apparent on May 4 when Bangladeshi Muslims unleashed a ferocious attack on a Hindu family living in the village of Hazarpur. According to sources, the gruesome incident took place in the evening at the ancient crematorium of Arjunpur where they went to cremate deceased Biren Pal.  Once Mukhagni (holy fire put into the mouth of a Hindu corpse at the time of lighting the funeral pile) was done, a large gang criminals from the adjoining slum including Bhodu Sheikh, Rafiqul Sheikh, Amin Sheikh and Habil Sheikh attacked the grieving Hindus with lethal weapons and full might. The abrupt attack proved to be decisive for Hindus who had to flee leaving the half-burnt corpse behind. Keshta Pal, Bikash Pal got injured heavily but when they returned after almost 30 minutes, neither the corpse nor any ashes were found. Even if Rakhi Pal, wife of deceased Biren Pal, has filed an official complaint to the local police station of farakka, no approach to nab culprits has been found yet.

The abovementioned incident was not isolated or part of any vengeance. And this is found best from another dreadful event on May 6. Islamists, as regards another cremation in the same ancient crematorium of Arjunpur, ransacked Hindu shops leading to chaos and also collapse of law and order in the area.  On the word of eyewitnesses, bands of Muslim youths ransacked the Ghosh Mistanna Bhandar (sweetmeat shop of a Bengali Hindu individual) adjoining the Farakka Railway Station. This was followed by the attack of Islamists on the second shop of Gunadhar Ghosh, owner of Ghosh Mistanna Bhandar, located in the market of Arjunpur. The two incidents of Hindu persecution has worried Hindus in the vicinity highly.

Is there any precise way to solve the crisis? As said by locals, it depends on willpower and courage of political leaders counting on these Islamists as their loyal minority vote banks. They also say that Murshidabad is steadily turning into a breeding ground of radical Muslim politics making it highly difficult for Hindus to live here. A few slums containing Bangladeshi Muslims have come forth around the crematorium of Arjunpur and now, they are attempting to grab the same land by terrorizing Hindus.  The tacit support of local administration and political parties give a boost to their strength and this leads to more oppressions on Hindus. Should Hindus abandon this area also? Lots of Hindus have been found to steer clear of such a decision and prefer to fight back.

Truth can’t be suppressed

Hindu Samhati, for the last 6 years, has been endeavoring best to make people realize the soaring communal tussles across Bengal and how Hindu bashing is getting identical to secularism. Whatever its attempts are, press and media in the state are up in arms against Samhati terming these incidents if exposed may endanger Bengal. Chaos and violent struggles will replace tranquility. As a result, mounting Hindu persecution (in every capacity) is being avoided with spiteful intent. But persecutions on Hindus as found in different districts refuse to die down and instead, the tacit political support is giving a boost to Islamists’ fortitude to exterminate Hindus racially. It is alleged that social responsibility prevents the media world from performing the noble duty to make people conscious always. Hence, while Hindu women are abducted or raped, Hindu temples are defiled and destructed, Hindus are beaten mercilessly, media remains a silent spectator. Well, at times, media publishes such stories under duress but utmost care is taken to keep the religious passion propelling attacks on Hindus a secret.

On the contrary, riots in Godhra 2002 or Muzaffarnagar of late continue to rule the media and hence, the human psyche. None knows where the Kashmiri Hindus are now. They were banished from their own ancestral places in Kashmir in 1989 but there has hardly been any documentary on their plights and also shown in any television channel. Nevertheless, all are free to witness the conditions of Muslims following the recent spate of riots at Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. And these are depicted to make people comprehend how the minority community of Muslims is being persecuted by Hindus day in and day out; there can’t be a greater untruth to this. All these are enough to haunt a commoner and make him/her wonder of the media’s hypocrisy.

What makes the press and media within India retain such hostility to Hindus? To be precise, it is the compulsion of these agencies to the market. Contrary to the past, press and media are accountable to their financial bosses now and neither the country nor its populace. What they fail to comprehend is that truth gets apparent to all however the forces to inhibit it are powerful.  Now, let’s check the reality which is hardly found or (better to say) remains absent altogether in the news world. According to police reports, communal scuffles in rural Bengal have soared highly in the last one year. While 12 to 40 such incidents happened between 2008 and 2012, 103 communally charged incidents marred Bengal’s landscape only in 2013. And this brings forth another sordid reality – Bengal is one of the first ten communally sensitive states in India.

This authentic report makes an inquisitive reader surmise also that communal conflagration prevails the state however brawny the saga of secularism is. There has also been a stiff rise of this peril recently.  What’s the reason then? The cudgel of responsibility remains with the present state government and undoubtedly, it stems from the blatant Muslim appeasement. The state government’s hands are stained with the filth of introducing subsidies for Imams, inaugurations of various schemes for Muslims in particular and Mamata’s attendance in various Islamic congregations with hijab; all-out publicity of her offering namaz in public has heightened the communal polarization in the state. As said by an official of State Minority Affairs Department, following the Trinamool Congress government’s commencement, no less than 400 Muslim NGOs have come to the fore. Again, no less than 597 madrasas recognized by the government exist already. Government’s indifference to adopt tough measures against criminals like Abdul Barik Biswas, Munna Iqbal, Arabul, Selim, Khonra Hussain, Shashjahan Sheikh and appointing a dubious person with strong links to outlawed SIMI to the Rajya Sabha as MP has beefed up Islamic aggression highly, in accordance with commoners.

Albeit this allegation is a cruel, real fact, it is not completed. It is worth mentioning, Hindu Samhati’s influence has increased fast in areas infested with communal clashes and thanks to this, Hindus have regained the confidence to fight back. Striking dissimilarities to the past are happening now, Hindus have no fear to report any incident to the police stations. Hindus are no more submissive but are found to retaliate. Accordingly, conflicts are getting common and are being registered by the police. Even if rise in communal conflicts is a cause of concern, there is a need to wait to discern whether growth in Hindu confidence is a silver lining.

Hindu women raped, tortured

Whether it’s the time of election or not, Hindu persecution never dies down in the length and breadth of Bengal and the ravishment of Seema Sardar (name changed), daughter of Fone Sardar and living in the village of Malipara Shisrishtala within the jurisdiction of Sandeshkhali police station in the North 24 Paraganas district, evidences grip of Islamists again with the fast deteriorating law and order in the state.  On May 14, at 11.30 pm, Seema Sardar along with her boyfriend Shibu Sardar (inhabiting the village of Jelekhali in close proximity) was returning from Dharmaraj fair going on at No. 1 Charavidya in the jurisdiction of Basanti police station. When they reached the Gopalmore crossing, Seema and Shibu were stopped by a motorbike with 3 Muslim youths who asked both of them lots of questions. Shibu tried to avoid and move forward but youths blocked them again. As soon as Shibu protested and asked the youths to leave, he was grasped and beaten mercilessly. Even if Seema tried to raise an alarm, all were in vain as the nearest village was far away still. Soon, Shibu got unconscious and Seema was taken forcibly on the bike. When he regained consciousness, Shibu could not trace Seema anywhere and a strange fear propelled him to run to the neighboring village of Gopalmore to seek help.

In a little while, a few Hindu youths from the village reached the spot and after a brief search, Seema was found in a bush but unconscious. There was no need to attest anymore as circumstantial evidences proved that Seema had been gang raped. The news has shocked the locality and searches are going on to locate the culprits. As per latest reports, Seema is in a trauma and even if the local police station has been informed, police personnel is yet to visit this hapless girl’s residence.

When talked to locals, it was found that Hindus here had been under constant pressure, threats of dreadful consequences for more than last one month under local Islamists at the behest of political parties, confident of Muslim votes but anxious of Hindu support to them. As a result, what happened here is similar to the incidents that appalled Mr. Sudhir Kumar Rakesh, Special Observer from Election Commission of India, of late.  On May 13, the day following the last phase of Parliamentary Election, 2014 in Bengal, the village of Sarberia Taltala within Sandeshkhali police station’s jurisdiction was visited by a team of 15 Islamists wielding lethal weapons who abused villagers for voting. They also ordered villagers to go to the Panchayat office at Sarberia on May 14 to face a trial of treason to the ruling Trainamool Congress. This infamous gang is led by Shajahan Seikh (Trinamool vice-president of Agarhati-Sarberia village panchayat). On the same day, in the morning, tribal people in another village of Golbunia were attacked by the similar team for daring to vote against their diktats.

However, at long last, wretched Hindu women in the village were saved by the timely intervention of Tapan Ghosh, president of Hindu Samhati, but the terror among Hindus in the vicinity refuses to end.

Attacks to grab Hindu properties rising in Bangladesh

On May 11, 2014, a team comprising almost 200 radical Muslim youths led by Bajlur Rahman Nayeem, local leader of Awami League at Niyamatpur sub-district within the district of Naogaon in Bangladesh, assailed a temple of the minority Hindu community located beside the crematorium there. It has been learnt, radicals came in motorbikes and also on foot and within a few minutes both temple and hallowed deity within it were defiled, destroyed and also razed to the ground sending a shudder of fear among Hindus living in the adjoining villages of Maharajpur, Kochpara, Kutubpur and Manpur. The Shiva temple was built up only a few months back and Kirtan used to happen in the temple premises daily in the evening. The attack took place while Hindus were preparing for Kirtan. The attack, as found later on, was an aggression to grab the Hindu property.

As part of the attack, a few Hindus including Dayal Chandra Seal, Dwijen Chabdra Barman and Naren Karmakar were beaten mercilessly and they had to flee as a result. When asked, Kamal Chandra Barman, Matarirani Barman, Jabarani Barman, Sundarirani Karmakar living in the villages of Kochpara and Maharajpur, expressed their horror. While they were talking to press, their in-laws were found to ask them not to utter a single word. What will happen if Hindus lose the crematorium to viciousness of Nayeem? Hindus have no other option if it is lost.  Lal Bahadu Seal, priest in the temple, while speaking, termed the Islamic approach as a cruel endeavor to suppress Hindu tribal people in the locality. Minority Hindus in the area have been using the crematorium for centuries. Abdul Mannan, local member of the council, termed Hindus as legal owners of the entire property and that the act was not only derogatory but brought dishonor for the whole of Bangladesh also.  Abul Kalam Azad, general secretary of sub-district committee of Awami League, said that the entire development had disturbed the party in the district and local police and administration was instructed to adopt all measures to detain culprits. He also made it clear that Awami League had no relation to it.

Obaidul Haque, officer-in-charge of Niymatpur police station, went to the spot and investigated the incident. Sajjadul Hussain (UNO) also visited the spot. But Hindus feel that Bajlur Rahman Nayeem wouldn’t have dared to attack had not he been supported by radical Muslims.

Such attacks to grab minority Hindu properties are getting common ever more throughout Bangladesh. On March 4, 2014, the residence and adjoining property of Dhirendranath Dey, minority Hindu individual living in No. 7 Ward of Kodial Municipality in the district of Barisal, was grabbed by a group of radical Muslims forcibly. The entire property is worth 25 crore taka and the Hindu family, as a result, has turned into mere paupers.

On April 6, 2014, a group radical Muslims unleashed a ferocious attack on the Hindu hermitage of Sukdeb Goswami located in the village of Mandra within the sub-district of Kotalipara in the district of Gopalgunj.  The sole intent was to get hold of the hermitage’s property and hence, the attack took place when Hindu religious rituals were in full swing. Even if Islamists failed to gain anything or terrorize Hindus en masse, 30 Hindus got injured highly. They were taken to the local health centre for treatment.

Electoral vengeance oppresses tribal Hindus in Sandeshkhali

Freedom of Thought ravished

Contrary to the rest of India, Lok Sabha election is still a raging issue in Bengal and what prevails the state now is post-poll atrocities that have started to harm Hindus once more and in every capacity.  The horror was discerned on May 13 in the morning, following the last and final phase of Election on May 12 in Bengal, when a gang of hoodlums entered the village of Golbunia within Sandeshkhali police station’s jurisdiction, sub-division of Basirhat in the district of North 24 Paraganas, in bikes. A close look revealed that the gang comprised no less than 100 brawny youths in 50 motorbikes and was led by Shoaib Khan and Karim Sheikh, local leaders of Trinamool Congress. It was learnt, late on, the gang was sent by    Shajahan Sheikh, sub-head of Trinamool-dominated local Panchayat, and also infamous for persecuting Hindus at regular intervals. Golbunia is inhabited by wretched, tribal Hindus and once the private army reached the spot, a hell was unleashed on villagers with lethal weapons. The sole reason of this torture on villagers was to vote for BJP in the election.

The attack was supported by obscenities made by youths and when tribal Hindu women protested, they were thrashed inhumanly. And this thrashing was not limited to bruises but attempts were made to strip Hindu women of their clothes in public. Molestations were the next traits that followed. The attack went unchallenged as Shajahan Sheikh, enjoying political endorsements, remains the sole satrap in the vicinity. Even if the local police station of Sandeshkhali was informed, police, being the favorite toy of the kingpin, did not turn up. This was not the end of terror’s show; felons left the place only after cautioning Hindus of dire consequences if they dared to inform police and narrate the event to any investigation team of the administration.

The onslaught was indeed short but left behind signs of atrocities only along with injured Hindus. More than a dozen of Hindu men and women suffered worst trashing by radical Muslim youths and a few of them were taken to the Rajbari hospital in the vicinity. It was learnt soon after that Shahjah Sheikh had phoned the hospital doctor, asked him to term any inured people as normal proving the rot in Bengal’s administration and the saga of sycophancy to the ruling clique. Bindubala Sardar, wife of Khokon Chandra Sardar, had a serious condition owing to the murderous assaults. As per locals, Islamists hit her with an iron rod repeatedly; the grave injury made doctors transfer her to the Basirhat sub divisional hospital. Other injured persons were not checked by the doctor as per the instruction and were released after providing a callous medical attention. All injured Hindus were termed as normal and they included    Sitabala Sardar wife of Biren Sardar; Sulata Sardar wife of Deben Sardar;Bindubala Sardar wife of Sukumar Sardar; Surabala Sardar wife of Jangli Sardar; Anil Sardar and Ashim Sardar.

Hindus have not dared to move to the local police station and file an official complaint against criminals yet while Bindubala Sardar’s condition is serious in the hospital.

No end to anguishes on Hindus in Bengal

Let the whole country get elated over the ascension of a nationalist government pledging to better India in each capacity. But Bengal can’t be a part to this festivity as it continues to stagger under the grip of terror unleashed by various political cliques while the administration remains a mute spectator to the burgeoning tragedy. As reported earlier, the victim of Trinamool Congress’ wrath has been Hindus and its best evidence was found in the village of Golbunia within Sandeshkhali police station’s jurisdiction, sub-division of Basirhat in the district of North 24 Paraganas when on May 13, Islamist army of Trinamool Congress led by Shoaib Khan and Karim Sheikh and instructed by Shajahan Sheikh, pounced down on their Hindu preys as they had voted for BJP en masse. The whole village was ransacked in a short time while almost a score of Hindus got injured heavily. Molestations of Hindu women knew no bounds. The victims did not get any assistance from any organ of the government, be it police or health center, and now the terror is such that they can’t live there anymore. On May 18, villagers were attacked again for moving to the police station to lodge an FIR against perpetrators on May 13. There is no option to them, as a result, other than to take flight to an unknown destination.

And this spate of violent attacks is spreading far and wide. Scheduled Caste Hindus living in the villages of Banogram and Nakurait within the Bhangar police station’s jurisdiction in the district of South 24 Paraganas underwent the same fate on May 19. Even if a large number of residences were pillaged and Hindus were injured by lethal weapons of Islamists, police is yet to reach the village to take stock of the situation. Many may advise the hapless Hindus to seek help from the highest echelon of the Bengal administration.  But the same administration counts on diktats of a political leadership which remains disinclined to Hindus.

The recurrent onslaughts from other side of the India-Bangladesh border can’t be excluded as well. On May 16, 2014, at night, Nirmal Ghosh, a person working in the Railway Police Force, was killed mercilessly at his own home in the village of Angrail within Gaighata police station’s jurisdiction near Bangaon in the North 24 Paraganas district.  According to villagers, he was killed by a team of cow smugglers hailing from Bangladesh. While Nirmal was grabbed by the smugglers, his elder brother or Paran Ghosh tried best to save him. But smugglers stabbed him also with choppers ferociously and hence, Paran failed to save his brother. Even if Paran Ghosh managed to save his life, he is admitted to the Bangaon hospital and is in a critical condition.  This is no new development for Hindus living in areas alongside the international India-Bangladesh border. If truth be told, Hindus here remain helpless and since BSF soldiers are found to leave them in the lurch owing to political compulsions, they are more insecure these days than ever before.  Hindus have to beef up their own security measures and how futile are those can be found from their recurrent persecutions by Muslim cow smugglers from Bangladesh.

Islamist-Maoist nexus to settle the score in Bengal!!

Bengal is getting more media attention than ever before and only for wrong reasons. The land known for its excellence in education and also as quintessential paradigm of erudition, bringing forth of scholars, Nobel Laureates and academicians at regular intervals has transformed to a hotbed of vices and violence. While on one hand, religious polarization has become a reality thanks to blatant Muslim appeasement through the chronicle of secularism in the state, on the other hand, it is the latest refuge of all criminals with malicious intent to harm the society altogether. This violent trait came forth once again when a huge stock of explosives got unearthed from the storeroom of a factory meant for compiling crushed stones within the subdivision of Rampurhat in the Bardhaman district. The investigation team was led by Rashid Munir Khan, Superintendent of Bardhaman District Police, on May 20. While speaking to the press, he said,” The investigation was done following definite information from a source and 41 carton gelatin sticks (each carton’s weight is worth 35 kg. almost) and 2 bundles of detonators (each bundle comprising 25 detonators) were seized. “

On May 4, a large number of explosives including 25 packets of gelatin sticks and 25 bundles of detonators were found from the village of Senbandha within the Rampurhat police station’s jurisdiction.  Three youths were also arrested in this regard. As per latest reports, none of them has been bailed out and CID is in charge of investigation. It must also be mentioned, on January 1, 2012, police had arrested two youths for stockpiling explosives from the area under the jurisdiction of Muraree police station.  The investigation unearthed gelatin sticks, detonators along with ammonium nitrate worth 25 quintals. Police stations of Rampurhat, Nalhati and Muaree are within a Maoist belt and hence, activists of banned Maoist outfits happen to be prime accused.

In accordance with more investigations, the district of Birbhum in Bengal alongside the neighboring state of Jharkhand has become the largest storage of illegal explosives of late. Explosion of a landmine within the Shikaripara police station’s jurisdiction during the recent Lok Sabha election rocked the country and the spot is located at a distance of 40 km (almost) from Rampurhat and all these are enough to prove that this extensive area, comprising areas from both of Bengal and Jharkhand, have become vulnerable to divisive forces.  A question can be raised now – whether terrorists or mafias are exploiting indifference of administration steadily or there are more factors than discerned by now behind this mounting crime. Can this be fallout of Islamist-Maoist nexus to settle the score? The administration, as per latest information, has not brushed aside any such development since myriad instances prove that even ideologically antagonist forces maintain bonhomie for mutual benefits, especially logistics.

Lastly, explosives used primarily for stone crushers are found easily in this area and these include areas like Barmesia, Tentulbandhi, Barapahari, Dighalpahari within Rampurhat. At the moment, police is conducting an investigation to nab Jahirul Sheikh, owner of the factory seized by police on May 20. There are enough reasons to smell a rat, it is apparent.
